ZINC CHAMOMILE CREAM

Zinc Chamomile Cream is our premier ointment for diaper rash and other serious skin inflammations. Users report that in most cases the rash subsides after one or two treatments.

DESCRIPTION OF INGREDIENTS:

Chamomile Oil
Chamomile is used extensively for its anti-inflammatory effect on the skin and for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Chamomile is a proven protectant of the skin, shielding it from UV damage. A German commission reports that Chamomile flowers “combat inflammation, stimulate the regeneration of cell tissue, and promote the healing of refractory wounds and skin ulcers.” At an international Chamomile research conference in Frankfurt, scientists noted significant relief from burns, diaper rash, and serious leg ulcers as a result of using Chamomile. Chamomile has notable antioxidant properties, which relate to the treatment of inflammation. Statistically significant diminishment of wound area as well as a drying tendency in weeping wounds has been observed in clinical trials. Erythema (redness) and moist desquamation, which are side effects of radiation therapy, have been successfully treated with Chamomile cream. In another clinical test, erythema induced by UV radiation responded well to Chamomile cream.

Elder Oil
Edward Shook recommends Elder as “extremely valuable made into salves or oils for outward application to wounds, burns, sunburn, bruises, contusions, sprains, and for many skin affections, acne, itch, etc.”

Calendula Oil
Calendula is our best vulnerary, which refers to that class of herbal medicines notable for their ability to promote the healing of wounds. This wound healing effect manifests itself on a number of levels. For one thing, Calendula promotes tissue regeneration and the re-formation of healthy skin (epithelialization). Calendula is bactericidal towards staphylococci and streptococci, as well as being both antiviral and antifungal. Calendula is astringent towards tissues (promotes firmness). It also demonstrates anti-inflammatory activity equal to that of leading prescription anti-inflammatories. In addition, Calendula is anti-edematous (prevents and reverses swelling in inflamed tissues, ulcers, and wounds).

Comfrey Oil
For millennia Comfrey has been applied by physicians to the skin around broken bones to improve healing time and solidify the fractured area; hence the common name “knitbone”. Comfrey is also effective for sprains, bruises, and burns. Comfrey is used for soothing and promoting rapid healing in skin wounds, leg ulcers, insect bites, ulcerative lesions, bedsores, dry or chapped skin, rashes, sunburn, itchy skin, diaper rash, and bruises. Comfrey contains abundant amounts of allantoin and mucilage. Allantoin promotes the growth of new cells and has recognized healing properties. Comfrey leaves contain higher amounts of tannin, which helps wounds heal by constricting (tightening) tissue and reducing oozing and bleeding. The high mucilage content expands when it comes into contact with moisture. It softens, soothes, and protects irritated skin and mucous membranes. Finally, animal studies have shown that the plant has significant anti-inflammatory activity. German health authorities approve of Comfrey’s external use for the treatment of bruises, strains, and sprains. They cite the herb’s ability to inhibit inflammation and promote the formation of callus in broken bones.

CWS™ (Colostrum Whey Soluble) Liquid Whey
In mammals, the mother’s first milk is known as colostrum and enjoys unique properties. As an ingredient of this cream we use the whey fraction of cow’s milk colostrum, which has antimicrobial, nutritive, soothing, and healing aspects for the skin.

Zinc Oxide
Zinc oxide ointments are agents that have proven quite effective in the treatment of diaper rash. Zinc oxide blocks irritants from contacting the skin, promotes healing, and minimizes the chances of infection. Zinc oxide has always been superior in protecting the skin against the ravages of UV radiation. Not only that, but it plays a healing role once the damage has been done. Also, besides healing diaper rash, Zinc oxide is excellent in terms of first aid for treating and protecting minor burns, cuts, scrapes, sunburn, and other skin irritations.

Essential Oil of Lavender
Lavender has been prized for its fresh, floral, sweet-smelling fragrance since antiquity. Lavender can calm a raging migraine and relax a stress-filled body in minutes. Like German Chamomile, Lavender Oil works to help relieve irritability, nervous tension, insomnia, palpitations, and high blood pressure. It works wonders for rashes and burns and takes the sting out of insect bites.

Vitamin A
Topical Vitamin A is an antioxidant for the skin. It negates free radicals and the damage they cause. Free radicals are unleashed by white blood cells any time the skin is irritated, whether it be by sun, smoke, or pollution. In effect, these free radicals are a byproduct of the fight against the irritant. If left unchecked, they damage DNA and healthy skin collagen (the springy stuff that gives you a firm face). The compromised collagen can cause wrinkling and slackened skin, while damaged DNA has the potential to lead to skin cancer. Vitamin A can reduce wrinkles, fade brown spots, and smooth surface roughness – all of these being signs of aging that can be induced by excessive sun exposure.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D analogues have been shown to prevent cancer of the skin. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that is formed in the skin by exposure to sunlight.

Vitamin E
Like Vitamins A and C, Vitamin E is an antioxidant. When added to sunscreen, Vitamin E provides protection from the sun by shielding against UVB rays. Vitamin E is found in many commercial creams because of its moisturizing qualities. Clinical studies provide proof that signs of aging, including lines and wrinkles, can be reduced by using Vitamin E.

One study followed 160 women for 18 months. Half the women used a patented cream manufactured by Estee Lauder that contained Vitamin E. Compared to the women who were given a placebo, only the women using the cream that contained the Vitamin E showed any positive change in wrinkling. The effect in fact was quite significant and striking. It was estimated that in this group there was a 23 percent reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles after 18 months of treatment.

Topical Ester C (Vitamin C)
In some in vitro studies and animal experiments antioxidants like Vitamin C have been found to be photo-protective (protective against the harmful effects of UV exposure).

ADMINISTRATION
Apply liberally to rashes, as needed, up to several times daily.
