HISTORY
MSM is linked to dozens of physiological functions. As a source of usable organic sulfur, MSM is one of the most important raw materials needed by the cells to ensure their normal growth and repair. After ingestion, MSM gives up its sulfur to form the collagen and keratin required for health, strong connective tissue, hair, skin and nails. This source of organic sulfur also helps to form the essential amino acids methionine, cystine and cysteine, and blood proteins. Organic sulfur supports the synthesis and activation of the B vitamins (thiamin, biotin and pantothenic acid) and lipoic acid which are all essential nutrients for building and maintaining a healthy nervous system. Healthy insulin production and proper carbohydrate metabolism is critically dependent upon adequate amounts of sulfur. Organic sulfur also helps to maintain the fine balance between acid-to-alkaline in the body. Protein-rich foods are considered some of the best sources of organic sulfur. Unpasteurized dairy products, eggs (yolks) fish and seafood, poultry and meat top the list of animal source proteins. Garlic, onions, legumes, red peppers, broccoli, brussel sprouts, kale, soybeans, turnips, horsetail herb, and asparagus are plant sources of organic sulfur.
