DESCRIPTION OF INGREDIENTS:
Poke is one of the most important ingredients in this formula. Herbalists have long held this plant in high regard for its therapeutic effects on the glandular system. That’s why it’s specifically recommended for treating breast cysts and tumors as well as swelling. Renowned herbalist Michael Tierra calls it “one of the two or three most important native herbs for treating cancer.” Poke is also of great benefit in preventing breast diseases and ailments before they get a toehold.
Calendula stands out as our premier herb for the healing and nourishment of the skin. It’s also our best vulnerary – the class of herbal medicines notable for their ability to promote the healing of wounds. In the case of Calendula, this distinctive quality is apparent on a number of levels. Notably, it promotes the regeneration of healthy skin (epithelialization) around a wound. This makes it ideal for use after breast surgery.
Like Poke, Calendula is useful in reducing breast cysts and as a preventative measure. Also, it has a topical anti-inflammatory activity equal to indomethacin, a leading prescription anti-inflammatory. As well, this herb is anti-edematous (prevents and reverses swelling in inflamed tissues, ulcers, and wounds).
People use it for its general tonifying effect on the skin, relying on it daily as a moisturizer.
Both the Red Clover and Lobelia enjoy anti-tumor properties, which make them effective in reducing breast lumps. The Red Clover also has a positive effect on lymphatic circulation.
Like Calendula, Mullein is a vulnerary, good for lymphatic congestion.
Research has shown that a number of essential oils have cancer-fighting qualities. The Essential Oils of Lavender, Palmarosa, and Celery, it has been discovered, abound in chemicals called monoterpenes. These monoterpenes enhance the liver’s ability to break down carcinogens by increasing the number of enzymes in this body organ. They also trigger the destruction of breast cancer cells, keeping them from dividing and multiplying. By way of bonus, they help keep cholesterol in check.
Lavender and Palmarosa also serve to regenerate and moisturize the skin.
Rosemary has antifungal and antiparasitic qualities. In addition, it enhances the liver’s ability to generate protective C-2 estrogen (as distinct from the harmful C-16 estrogen).
The Essential Oils of both Tangerine and Galbanum tone the skin. They also help to heal scar tissue and old skin lesions. The Galbanum Oil, in particular, is anti-inflammatory.
